CHARLOTTE-Seven Bi-Lo locations in the Charlotte area have been acquired by Lakeland, FL-based Publix Super Markets Inc. and will be rebranded as Publix properties.

No financial terms of the transaction were released. The deal is expected to close next month. Company officials say the grand openings as Publix stores will depend on the scope of the renovations. The transaction involves the store leases and major equipment, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

“Publix has a strong financial foundation that allows us to aggressively grow throughout existing markets and our new Charlotte division,” stated Publix CEO Ed Crenshaw.

The seven Bi-Lo stores included in the transaction are: 8120 S. Tryon St. in Charlotte; 12810 York Road in Charlotte; 9815 Rose Commons Drive in Huntersville; 3110 Fincher Farm Road in Matthews; 158 Highway 274 in Lake Wylie; 1735 Heckle Blvd. in Rock Hill; and 2186 Cherry Road in Rock Hill.
