CHICAGO-Mortgage lender Wells Fargo & Co. has opened its new regional headquarters on Wacker Drive here at the CME Center.
The San-Francisco-based firm's new regional headquarters totals 300,000 square feet. The company's lease runs through 2028 with an option for an additional 10 years, according to the Chicago Business Journal. In total, the company employs more than 800 workers in the city.
The business lines at its new regional headquarters include: commercial banking, corporate banking, equipment finance, global banking, insurance, private banking, trade services and Wells Fargo Securities.
Wells Fargo shifted staff from 40 of its business lines housed in four locations in the city to the Wacker Drive facility. However, the company says it now leases 14% more office space in the Chicago area than before the relocation to Wacker Drive. See story in the Chicago Business Journal.
