ROBBINSVILLE, NJ-The builder of the massive 1.2-million-square-foot Amazon.com warehouse says construction on the project is ahead of schedule.

In less than a year, work will be finished on the fulfillment center. KTR Builders, which held a tour of the project site on Thursday, broke ground on the project in February and has completed approximately two-thirds of the building, according to NJBiz. Giant concrete walls making up three sides of the warehouse are visible to passersby along Old York Road.

“It's a fun project,” said township engineer Tim McGough, also the township's economic and community development director. “It's a huge project and we're constantly evaluating what is going to be built. We have to constantly look at changes to make sure it's done correctly, but it's come a long way.”

KTR Senior Vice President John Bancroft estimates project completion “just ahead of schedule” in the second quarter of 2014. See story in NJBiz.
