MEMPHIS-United Parcel Service Inc. is planning on expanding its presence at Memphis International Airport.
The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority approved on Thursday a lease modification to allow the company the ability to secure up to 1.1 million square feet of land at the airport to grow its sort and outbound facility. The Memphis Business Journal reports that UPS could add the land on Oct. 1.
“They've decided to make a major expansion of that facility,” Larry Cox, president of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, said. “They will be expanding their sort facility substantially.” See story in the Memphis Business Journal.
