TAMPA-While costs for the project have not been released, a new capital improvement campaign is underway at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay.

The hotel ownership, which finished a $16-million renovation last year, is undertaking construction on the ground floor of its 442-room facility located off the Courtney Campbell Causeway, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

Hotel General Manager Paul Joseph refused to detail the renovation program, its cost or timeframe. A spokeswoman told the newspaper that Joseph would divulge project specifics later this year.

An investor account advised by the U.S. real estate business of UBS Global Asset Management acquired the hotel from Hyatt Hotels Corp. for $58.5 million in 2010. See story in the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
