WASHINGTON, DC-Events DC, the manager of the district's convention and sports business, announced a plan on Monday that would have the International Spy Museum relocate to the former Carnegie Library in Mount Vernon Square.

The plan by Events DC calls for the renovation and expansion of the former Carnegie Library that would give the museum more space for exhibits and a link to the city's convention center, according to the Washington Post.

The plan would add 58,000 square feet to the library property, but requires considerable approvals from a number of agencies.

“I applaud Events DC and the Malrite Company for developing a public-private partnership that will revive and preserve this important historic asset while also strengthening the District of Columbia's travel and tourism industry,” stated Washington, DC Mayor Vincent C. Gray. See story in the Washington Post.
