MIAMI-Hotels throughout South Florida posted increases in occupancy, per room revenue and room rates, according to data released by Smith Travel Research.
Compared to August 2012, Miami-Dade hotels were 75.5% full in August of this year, an increase of 3.8 percentage points, according to the Miami Herald. Average daily rates soared 10.6% to $139.29, and revenue per available room was almost 15% higher $105.13.
Broward County hotels also fared well this August. Hotels there registered occupancy rates of nearly 70%, 5.7 percentage points higher than August 2012. Room rates increased 5.4% to $94.16, and per-room revenue increased 11.4 % to $65.70 as compared to August of last year. See story in the Miami Herald.
