HOUSTON-DTZ has represented New Orleans/Houston engineering firm Waldemar S. Nelson & Company, Inc. for a lease acquisition of 18,628 square feet of space in the Millennium Tower, 10375 Richmond Avenue.
The new location will serve as a branch office that will allow the firm to recruit and retain personnel within the highly competitive Houston engineering community. A location near to many clients in the Energy Corridor, and access to major road systems plus desirable building amenities, were key factors in the selection of the branch office. The opening of the new office is scheduled for January 1, 2014 and it can accommodate a staff of up to 65. Waldemar S. Nelson's Houston headquarters will remain at 2 Northpoint Drive.
With a staff of over 400, the firm provides project management, engineering, procurement, environmental science and architectural services from offices in New Orleans and Houston. The late Waldemar S. Nelson founded the company in New Orleans in 1945, and expanded operations to Houston in 2000.
DTZ SVP William Wolff represented the firm in negotiations with Kristen Rabel of CBRE, who represented the landlord, Millennium-Windfall Partners, Inc. The 21-story office tower situated in the Westchase submarket was constructed in 1982, and was Energy Star-certified in 2011.
