SPRINGFIELD, IL-An incentives package aimed to keep Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) from relocating its global headquarters out of state was introduced by State Rep. John Bradley on Friday.
The measure, if passed, would grant ADM a 10% break on utility taxes for up to a 30-year term and a credit against some state withholding taxes, according to ABC News.
Decatur, IL-based agribusiness titan ADM announced last week that it was looking for a new global headquarters, which has been based in Decatur for more than 40 years. The company stated the global headquarters would employ 100 workers and would also house a new technology center that would double its workforce over the next few years.
The bulk of its business and nearly 4,500 jobs would stay in Decatur, which would retain the firm's North American headquarters operations. See story at ABC News.
