ATLANTIC CITY, NJ-Bass Pro Shops began construction today on its new $35-million store here.

The 86,000-square-foot store will span Christopher Columbus Boulevard from Arctic and Atlantic avenues and will be part of Phase IV of The Walk shopping center, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The project is part of $200-million in redevelopment the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has undertaken going back to 2011. Bass Pro is to receive $12.3 million in financing from the CRDA and another $11 million in tax abatements over the next 11 years. 

Atlantic City is one of two Bass Pro Shops stores being planned for New Jersey. The retailer also plans a Sayreville, NJ store that will be 200,000 square feet. See story in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
