TRENTON, NJ-State Superior Court Judge Peter Doyne in an 18-page ruling has denied the motion by the New York Giants and New York Jets to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the American Dream Meadowlands complex.

The case, filed in July by the project developer, Triple Five, will proceed. In its litigation, Triple Five charged the two sports franchises and neighbors with an alleged “ongoing campaign to delay, thwart, and ultimately prevent the Project from ever opening,” according to The Record.

Both the Giants and Jets have denied the accusations contained in the suit.

Judge Doyne in his decision stated, “At this preliminary stage of the litigation, the court should not be concerned with the ability of the litigant to prove the allegations. … The teams' motion to dismiss must be denied, as the developers have alleged sufficient proofs to meet the generous and indulgent pleading standard” of the court.” See story in The Record.
