NEW YORK CITY-Minneapolis-based furniture retailer Room & Board plans to establish its flagship New York City store at 249 West 17th St. The firm has signed a lease for a 60,000-square-foot store at the property that sits between Seventh and Eighth avenues.
Room & Board will also continue to operate its New York showroom on Wooster Street in Soho, according to Crain's New York Business.
The building owner of the property is real estate, private equity and asset management firm Savanna, which acquired the 249 property along with 245 West 17th St. last November and has since spent $21 million to upgrade the two buildings. Both buildings each total 284,000 square feet. See story in Crain's New York Business.
