NEW YORK CITY-Citigroup Inc. is reportedly close to deciding its course of action in terms of its massive amount of office space it occupies in the New York metro region and where it will house its global banking headquarters.

Several sources tell Crain's New York Business that the bank has reduced its choices for its global headquarters to three locations and that a final decision is likely in the coming months. The bank's global headquarters is currently housed at 399 Park Ave.

The bank is considering the World Trade Center site, an existing twin-building complex it occupies on Greenwich Street in Tribeca, and the Hudson Yards on the far West Side.

"We have been looking at ways over the last several years to make more efficient use of our office space in New York, including consolidating locations," a Citi spokeswoman said. "With several leases expiring in the near future, we also have been looking at new space that is coming on the market." See story in Crain's New York Business.
