ELDERSBURG, MD-Driven by the approvals granted late on Wednesday by the Carroll County Planning Commission, the developer of the $50-million Eldersburg Commons retail center says that construction will begin immediately on the project.
Developer Black Oak Associates will transform the former Carrolltown Mall into a 290,000-square-fooot retail center anchored by a new Walmart, according to the Baltimore Sun. The project is expected to open next fall.
In addition to Walmart, the development will feature more than a dozen apparel, home furnishing and pet stores, along with some restaurants.
"This project has already received strong interest from some of the country's premier retailers, and we're very close to signing several new tenant agreements,” Dixon Harvey, a Black Oak partner, stated. See story in the Baltimore Sun.
