MIAMI-Hyatt Hotels Corp. reported on Thursday that it will begin construction later this year on the Hyatt South Beach.
The 10-story, 105-room hotel at 1600 Collins Ave. will be developed by Bay Harbor Islands-based Robert Finvarb Companies, according to the Miami Herald.
The hotel will also feature approximately 10,000 square feet of retail and will replace the 47-unit Tropical Gardens apartments that were vacated earlier this year.
The hotel is scheduled to open in 2015 and will be managed by Island Hospitality Management of Palm Beach.
“We are excited to be bringing the first Hyatt- branded hotel to Miami Beach. Hyatt South Beach will be the ideal location for travelers to enjoy and explore the beaches and multiple attractions of Miami and beyond,” states Robert Finvarb, CEO and founder of Robert Finvarb Companies. “Our company's hotel portfolio spans across major cities throughout the United States and we are delighted to add the strength and innovation of the Hyatt brand to it.” See story in the Miami Herald.
