JBG Seeking Buyers for FDA Leased Buildings

ROCKVILLE, MD-JBG Cos. has hired Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP to market two buildings here that are fully leased to the Food and Drug Administration.

HFF has begun seeking buyers for 5630 Fishers Lane and 12420 Parklawn Drive. The marketing effort began two weeks ago. HFF Senior Managing Director Jim Meisel says the response to the campaign has been strong thus far, despite the federal government shutdown, according to the Washington Business Journal.

"I think the sophisticated investor realizes this too shall pass," Meisel said. "It may be ugly, and we all may be grumbling about it, but I don't think it changes anybody's opinion of the U.S. government." The FDA's lease for the two properties span for most of the next decade.
