PHILADELPHIA-Construction will begin in early 2014 on the $140-million Rodin Square project in Logan Square that will include a new Whole Foods market and 293 luxury apartments.
The project received final zoning approval from the city on Wednesday. The development is named after and will be built by Neal Rodin, chairman of International Financial Co. L.L.C. The development site will encompass nearly the entire city block between 21st and 22nd streets, according to The Inquirer.
The plan calls for Whole Foods to relocate its existing store at 20th and Collowhill streets to the project site. The new store will be larger than its existing market with 55,000 square feet of retail space and a 5,000-square-foot cafe. Construction on the Rodin Square development could take two years to complete. See story in The Inquirer.
