ALAMEDA, CA-While local officials sort out plans for redeveloping Alameda Point, numerous tenants have moved into the former Navy base's decommissioned facilities, says the San Francisco Business Times.

PM Realty Group, the firm that manages Alameda Point's properties for the City of Alameda, has signed 16 new tenants for and renewals leases with 15 existing tenants.

Some of the latest deals have include a 32,000 square foot lease for Faction Brewing, 110,000 square feet renewed by Artemis Racing USA, and a new lease of 30,000 square feet for Airclaims.

Alameda Point contains about 878 acres that the city would like to redevelop into new commercial, residential and open space. But, until that happens, Alameda leases about 1.8 million square feet of space ranging from office buildings to former airplane hangars in a variety of sizes and configurations.

Since the property was conveyed to the city by the U.S. Department of Defense in June, leasing activity has been brisk, prompting PMRG to bring on additional agents.
