DURHAM, NC-Skanska USA has landed a $65-million contract to renovate and expand the West Campus Union building at Duke University's campus here.

The international construction contracting firm will be working with New York City-based architectural firm Grimshaw on the 115,000-square-foot West Campus Union building, according to the Triangle Business Journal. The project will include new student dining areas, food prep areas, and dedicated common spaces for faculty and students. The project is expected to file LEED certification when complete.

“Building on the successful completion of the new Penn Pavilion during the first phase of the West Campus projects, this next major upgrade to our historic campus will bring new state-of-the-art amenities and services that will allow us to better serve our students and faculty,” states Paul Manning, director of the Office of Project Management at Duke University.
