RIDGEWOOD, NJ-Developer and racehorse owner Malvern Burroughs, who has tried to develop a vacant parcel along Route 17 for 30 years but has been continuously rebuffed by the Planning Board, is now back before the agency once again.
Burroughs hopes to build a 15,000-square-foot retail center that would house seven commercial tenants on the 2.4-acre parcel, according to The Record. Previous plans to develop town house apartments, a mini-storage warehouse and an office building were denied.
Thomas Wells, Burroughs' attorney, said that if it the latest plan is approved, the new one-story strip mall already has Starbucks committed as a tenant. See story in The Record.
