FORT LEE, NJ-A Business Improvement District has been proposed for the borough of Fort Lee that if adopted would facilitate improvements to 200 properties in the downtown district.

When the BID becomes official, the businesses and property owners within the BID's boundaries will begin paying an extra tax to fund various improvement projects, according to The Record. The improvements are geared to revitalizing Main Street, which has seen sluggish sales of late.

Fort Lee District Management Corp. will manage the BID. See story in The Record.
