SACRAMENTO, CA-The Hodgdon Group, says has completed construction of the conversion of the former Sam's Club building in Sacramento, for the opening of a 60,000 square-foot Burlington Coat Factory, which opened last week.
Hodgdon Group's HMC Construction, Inc. handled all entitlements and served as the design-build contractor for the major renovation located in North Natomas at 3671 N. Freeway Boulevard.
Aaron Hodgdon of Hodgdon Group Realty, along with Chris Campbell of CBRE Sacramento, represented the investor in the acquisition of the former Sam's Club and also represented the landlord in the lease transaction with Burlington Coat Factory. Kent DeSpain of Retail West Inc. of San Francisco represented Burlington Coat Factory. An additional tenant is slated to occupy the remaining space and will open soon.
"The City of Sacramento was very helpful in fast-tracking approvals to accommodate our very compressed development and construction schedule," said Aaron Hodgdon, president of Hodgdon Group. "Vice mayor Angelique Ashby and Michelle Kille, Director of Public Policy; along with Greg Bitter of the planning department were very helpful."
Hodgdon adds, "We completed the build out in a compressed schedule to meet the October opening. We couldn't have accomplished this without a close working relationship with the city and all of our sub-contractors."
Hodgdon Group's Dan Wallner served as project manager and John Rigamonti as superintendent. Jim Pinter of ADA Architects, Inc.,Cleveland, served as the architect.
Hodgdon recently completed construction of the conversion of the former Sports Authority building in Folsom, Calif., for the opening of an Ashley Furniture HomeStore.
