ROYAL OAK, MI-The developer of the proposed mixed-use project on Main Street here is looking to have its 114-room hotel fly the Hyatt flag.

Negotiations are underway to have the $40-million, eight-story hotel to be built at the former site of the Jim Fresard Pontiac-Buick-GMC auto dealership on Main Street operate as a Hyatt hotel.

Greg Cooksey, managing member for 400 Main LLC, the developer of the project, says the deal with Hyatt has not been finalized, according to Crain's Detroit Business. Cooksey is also attempting to nail down city, local and state incentives packages, in addition to financing.

"We hope to break ground in the spring," he says. In addition to the hotel, the project also will feature: an eight-story, 82-unit apartment building, as well as office and retail space and a parking garage. See story in Crain's Detroit Business.
