ALEXANDRIA, VA-Brokers with Jones Lang LaSalle have filed suit against the landowner on the $22-million lease that will relocate the National Science Foundation from Ballston to a 668,000-square-foot complex to be built here in southern Alexandria.

The complaint filed in August in federal court by Jones Lang LaSalle, alleges its brokers were due a $6.7-million commission for the NSF deal, according to the Washington Post. Jones Lang LaSalle charges that after the lease was signed, Hoffman Family LLC, refused to pay the commission outlined in a 2007 leasing agreement, despite the first payment of $3,365,169.83, having come due.

Hoffman Family LLC responded to the suit by saying Jones Lang was only owed $1 million. See story in the Washington Post.
