DURHAM, NC-The Radisson Hotel at Research Triangle Park will close on Nov. 1 and will at a later date be demolished.

The hotel was sold by the Mercantile Commerce Bank of Boca Raton, FL to the Research Triangle Foundation. Bob Geloas, CEO of the foundation, says the hotel is an eyesore. He adds the foundation plans to demolish the hotel and will later determine what the future use of the property will be, according to the Triangle Business Journal.

“We don't intend to keep the hotel open,” Geolas says, “While we haven't set a date for when we will demolish it, we will take the hotel down. If you look at our master plan, this will be one of the first tangible signs that the park is changing.” See story in the Triangle Business Journal.
