NEW YORK CITY-Family-owned grocer Westside Market is opening a nearly 19,000-square-foot location at 84 Third Ave. The new store will be the retailer's fifth in Manhattan.

The space at 84 Third Ave. totals 18,817 square feet at a site being redeveloped by YYY Third Avenue LLC, according to the Commercial Observer.

The grocery store's space includes 10,500 square feet on the ground floor and 8,317 square feet on the lower level.

“There was a noticeable gap in the market for food retailers in this area,” stated Ariel Schuster, executive vice president of RKF. “The large resident and student populations in the area will provide an excellent customer base for the Westside Market.”

Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Retail's Stu Morden represented Westside Market in the transaction with RKF's Schuster, Zach Winkler, and Taryn Talmadge handling the lease for the building owner. See story in the Commercial Observer.
