SAN RAMON, CA-AT&T is planning a lease-back sale of it's outsized regional office complex here.
A report in the Contra Costa Times indicates that the company has more space than it currently needs.
"We plan to sell the building at 2600 Camino Ramon and lease back the space we'll need for continued occupancy,"AT&T spokesman Alexander Carey told the paper.
The building, located in the Bishop Ranch business park, totals 1.8 million square feet. Sources familiar with AT&T's plans told the Times that the communications firm will occupy about 900,000 square feet of that.
The building was completed in 1983 by Pacific Bell, which moved its headquarters out of San Francisco. The most recent employee total for AT&T in San Ramon was listed at 8,500 workers, according to the paper.
