WINSTON-SALEM, NC-Wesley Walls, a former tight end with the Carolina Panthers, is spearheading a $20-million retail project here for Pavilion Development.

Walls, a senior vice president with the Charlotte-based developer, will be in charge of the project that will total approximately 150,000 square feet of retail space on a 22-acre tract of land on Hanes Mall Boulevard, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

The property is the last sizable vacant parcel on Hanes Mall Boulevard and is located across the street from the Shoppes at Little Creek retail development and the Lofts at Little Creek apartments.

“That's the center of Winston-Salem retail,” says Walls, who played for the Carolina Panthers from 1996 to 2002. “There's a lot of new multifamily, a lot of new high-end residential developments under way or in progress. We felt like there was a need for some more retail.” See story in the Charlotte Business Journal.
