MILWAUKEE-Mercy Housing Lakefront has expanded its reach into the Milwaukee market by merging with St. Catherine Residence.
St. Catherine is a not-for-profit owner of 203 apartments on the lower east side of Milwaukee. The merger deal will have Chicago-based Mercy be the managing entity of St. Catherine Residence, according to Lisa Kuklinski, vice president of public affairs for Mercy. No terms of the transaction were reported.
St. Catherine owns and runs the eight-story, 157-unit St. Catherine Residence for Women at 1032 E. Knapp St. The group also owns and runs a second 46-unit building nearby, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal.
Mercy Housing has two proposed affordable housing developments in Milwaukee. One is a $60-million mixed-use project in the Park East corridor that would feature 190 apartments. The second proposal involves a two-phased plan for 110 apartment units at East North and North Farwell avenues. See story in the Milwaukee Business Journal.
