LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA-HREC Investment Advisors has hired Mark Mitroka as SVP in the newly opened Orange County office here. Mitroka is a veteran lodging and gaming real estate senior executive.
Before joining HREC, Mitroka was president/CEO for Sojourn Advisors, a boutique real estate and finance consulting firm serving high-net-worth individuals and private companies in the US and abroad. During his 25 years of experience in real estate and finance, he has appraised, valued, financed, acquired, operated and provided consulting advice on hospitality and gaming assets worth in excess of $5 billion.
“We are excited to add a seasoned real estate veteran to our team and look forward to exploring new opportunities at HREC that Mark's experience and background can assist the company in developing,” says Michael Cahill, CEO and Founder of HREC.
Mitroka has also held positions in the hospitality industry with Michigan State University, HVS, KPMG, Belgravia Capital and Larken Hotels. “I have known Mark since I hired him at HVS over 25 years ago, and I have grown to respect his hotel knowledge and deal acumen,” adds Cahill. “Mark's background and expertise add additional hotel and broad-based real estate experience to HREC's proven team that will help us further serve our clients both nationally and internationally.”

As GlobeSt.com reported exclusively in September, HREC has expanded its mortgage brokerage platform, forming a capital markets group within its hotel brokerage platform. The Hotel Capital Markets Group, also known as HREC H-CAP, will continue to focus on arranging acquisition debt, refinance, structured finance utilizing subordinate debt and preferred equity and other forms of capital to provide a complete range of capital solutions for its clients.
