PATERSON, NJ-Mayor Jeffrey Jones and other city leaders spoke of the “work in progress” that is improving conditions in the Silk City at a morning meeting of the Greater Paterson Chamber of Commerce.
William McDonald, CEO of St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, said at the event on Thursday that a $250-million investment along Main Street in South Paterson with a new hotel complex is expected to break ground in the spring.
William "Billy" Procida, who has 30-year track record in urban redevelopment including redevelopment projects in the South Bronx, told the Chamber gathering, "Paterson is more like Short Hills, New Jersey, compared to Fort Apache. In Fort Apache, gangs controlled every corner. But we built condominiums in the most dangerous neighborhood in America." See story in The Record.
