SANTA ANA, CA-Lyon Communities is proposing to construct a 256-unit apartment building at 1901 East First St.
The 5.1 acre site currently contains a 4-level parking structure with 660 parking spaces. According to public notice from the city, Lyon is proposing to construct 242 apartments within three 5-story buildings on the central and west sections of the site.
An additional 14 town home units, three-stories in height, are proposed for the south and east sides of the parking structure. The units will be constructed to condominium standards for future sale of the units. The project will require a tentative tract map, an amendment to the existing development agreement and site plan review by the city's Planning Commission.
The developer will hold a community meeting tonight to present its plans and gauge community concerns and reaction. The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lestonnac Retreat Center Conference Room, 16791 E. Main Street, Tustin, CA.
