ST. PAUL, MN-Marking two years since its launch, officials with the economic development organization GreaterMSP say that it has helped bring 9,000 jobs and $700 million in investment to the Twin Cities since its inception.

“Two years ago, we set an aggressive goal for our region: add 100,000 new jobs in the region in the next five years,” states Michael Langley, CEO of GreaterMSP. “Since then, we have gone from trailing our peers to leading them, with one of the fastest growing economies and the lowest unemployment rate among America's largest regions.”

The group, funded by area private companies, as well as counties and cities in the region, has helped facilitate deals with Emerson Process Management (500 jobs) and Shutterfly (330 new jobs) in Shakopee and Olympus (100 new jobs) in Brooklyn Park. See story in the Twin Cities Business Journal.
