TRENTON, NJ-The labor market in New Jersey got a little bleaker as three major employers move on this week with plans to trim their workforces or relocate out-of-state.
International Technidyne Corp., a Piscataway-based medical device manufacturer, is relocating to San Diego. The move will impact 357 jobs in New Jersey based on the notice the company filed with the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
GlaxoSmithKline will shutter its oral care manufacturing plant in Clifton as of Thursday and begin phasing out the jobs of 165 employees. That plant closure was announced in 2010. The facility is being relocated to Oak Hill, NY.
Also on Thursday, 92 jobs are being eliminated at the New Providence office of legal information company LexisNexis, according to a filing with the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development. There are no plans to shutter that office, however. See story in the Star-Ledger.
