NEW YORK CITY-Plaza Construction reports it has completed the new entry pavilion at the former World Financial Center, now known as Brookfield Place.
The opening of the entry pavilion allows PATH and subway commuters easy access to Brookfield Place and Goldman Sachs' headquarters. The Entry Hall Pavilion is part of the first phase of Brookfield Office Properties' $250-million renovation of the property. The renovation plan also includes a marketplace and food vendors, according to the Commercial Observer.
Plaza Construction built the 8,000-square-foot, 55-foot tall commuter cube. Spector Group and Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects collaborated on the design of the structure. Last week, the Institute of Culinary Education signed a 71,000-square-foot lease deal at Brookfield Place. See story in the Commercial Observer.
