CLIFTON, NJ-Mountain Development Corp. of Woodland Park has sold its recently finished data center here to pension fund California Public Employees' Retirement System and the private-equity firm GI Partners of Menlo Park, CA, for $53.9 million.
The 215,000-square-foot center named NJR3 opened its doors om June. The property at 2 Peekay Drive traded for approximately $251 a square foot, according to The Record.
Telx, a New York City-based data center and interconnection services provider, is the long-term tenant and operator of the data center.
"For Telx, this represents a financial transaction and in no way changes the operational aspects of NJR3 or any operations taking place on the Telx Clifton campus," said Ron Sterbenz of Telx. "This is a financial decision that allows each party to focus on what we do well, and for Telx, that is operating both data centers and the encompassing campus." See story in The Record.
