CHICAGO—Transwestern has just been named the exclusive leasing agent for 150 East Huron, a 92,801-square-foot office building just off Chicago's Magnificent Mile, a neighborhood also filled with medical offices and near Northwestern's medical school. Vice President Katie Steele will lead the Transwestern leasing team, which will also include the recently hired Courtney Baratz, senior associate, and Michael Lirtzman, executive vice president. Transwestern has also been selected as property manager for the office portion of the building, owned by Driftwood Hospitality Management, LLC.

“This property offers a unique opportunity for medical office tenants due to its strategic location near Chicago's expanding Northwestern medical campus and ample amenities,” stated Lirtzman. “We are pleased to welcome Courtney to the team and to this assignment. Her knowledge and creativity along with Katie's prior leasing experience of this building will result in a successful leasing partnership for this building.”

The 40-story building has offices on floors 8-13 and is currently 86% leased. It is attached to the Avenue Hotel at 160 East Huron, which Hilton has begun converting into a Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites. Due to the renovation, 150 East Huron will get a renovated office lobby with new finishes, new elevator cabs and updated corridors. Built in 1981, this property features a fitness facility, rooftop pool, valet parking, ground-floor restaurant and bar, 24-hour business center and barber shop. The building offers cityscape views of the Magnificent Mile and is within walking distance to award-winning restaurants, retail, entertainment as well as medical and health services.

Prior to joining Transwestern, Baratz served as leasing manager for the Irvine Company, an owner and operator of class A properties in California, where she was responsible for leasing two-million-square-feet of office space, as well as pursuing acquisitions and new business development. “Courtney has a solid reputation as an innovative and creative leasing broker,” Lirtzman added. “Her ideas extend beyond the traditional and we are excited to see in what direction her inspiration will lead.”
