BALTIMORE-A new master plan for the city's Inner Harbor was released today that promises to redevelop this important, but tired section of the city.

The "Inner Harbor 2.0" plan proposes the construction of a pedestrian bridge to connect Harbor East with Federal Hill, converting Rash Field into a grassy park and linking Light Street with McKeldin Plaza to the harbor amphitheater, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Other key elements of the plan call for a kayak launch, a bike share program and an urban beach that would offer a floating swimming pool.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake say the plan looks to create a "greener and softer" Inner Harbor, similar to the original development.

"Maybe it was for tourism but as a young person, I thought it was for me," she says of the original Inner Harbor development. "With Inner Harbor 2.0, we're getting back to that feeling." See story in the Baltimore Sun.
