LAS VEGAS-The PENTA Building Group has completed a $43 million expansion of a union trading center here.
The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America's International Training Center, is located at 6801 Placid St., Las Vegas.
The new 220,000-square-foot addition to the facility will be utilized to provide a wide variety of training resources for members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC). In addition to shop space, the training center expansion contains more than 30 classrooms, two large meeting halls that can be joined or divided for various events, and a display area and museum. The entire structure, including the adjoining existing space, is approximately 365,000 square feet.
The training center campus, which can house several hundred individuals, includes state-of-the-art infrastructure to provide in-depth training to regional instructors as well as for union members in the U.S. and Canada.
Work on the facility's expansion project began in September 2012. The initial phase of the training center opened in 2001, with this newest and largest expansion completed in September 2013. An opening ceremony is slated for early 2014.

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters is made up of nearly 500,000 members and operates more than 200 training centers across North America with 2,500 full-time instructors.
