IRVINE, CA-Three awards were given for excellence in real estate during the recent CoreNet Global Southern California REmmy Awards and Charity Gala here. The competition was intense, according to the chapter, and several high-profile companies and projects were submitted for judging.

H. Hendy & Associates won an award for leadership involving an innovative project in recognition of its work on the Goodman Birtcher corporate headquarters in Sydney. The award was given, among others, during Hendy's new approach, titled  “space to work,” displays the office's highly efficient work strategy in which no employee—not even the CEO—has an assigned space. Employees choose from activity zones, ranging from collaborative to private. Every zone includes workstations, focus areas and conference rooms, each with technological enhancements that facilitate collaboration. Hendy also made the space sustainable, with a mixture of lighting choices, motion detectors and an 80% reduction in paper usage.

In addition, the CRE Executive for Industry Excellence was awarded to Mark Fuller of Activision, due to the uniqueness of his worldwide portfolio. And, the first-ever Broker Creative Solution Award was given to the Cresa team of Tim Schramm, Wendy Han, Jeff Manley and Ken Blye for their design work on Endologix, a lab facility; the award was voted on by the general public via website.

As GlobeSt.com reported in November 2012, last year's REmmy Award winners included Wells Fargo, HKS and the City of Riverside.
