Stephen L. Green Tops List of REBNY Honorees

NEW YORK CITY-The founder of the city's largest office landlord is in line for top honors come January. Stephen L. Green, chairman of SL Green Realty Corp., will receive the Bernard H. Mendik Lifetime Achievement Award at the Real Estate Board of New York's 118th Annual Banquet, scheduled for Jan. 16, 2014.

Green will join a line of Mendik Award honorees that in recent years have included Donald Zucker, Douglas Durst, Leslie Wohlman Himmel and David R. Greenbaum. The award is presented annually to a REBNY member for a lifetime of exceptional accomplishment in the profession and dedication to leadership in New York real estate.

Joining Green on the dais will be five other REBNY honorees. Kenneth Fisher, senior partner of Fisher Brothers, will receive the Harry B. Helmsley Distinguished New Yorker Award, presented annually to an industry member for invaluable contributions to New York's civic welfare and to the real estate community. Joel Picket, chairman and CEO of the Gotham Organization, is set to be honored with the Kenneth R. Gerrety Humanitarian Award, which recognizes meritorious service to the community by a REBNY member.

The annual Louis Smadbeck Broker Recognition Award will go to Robin Abrams, EVP at the Lansco Corp. Thomas L. Hill, SVP of Boston Properties' New York property management division, will receive REBNY's George M. Brooker Management Executive of the Year Award, which recognizes individuals of superior accomplishment in the commercial management industry. Robert C. Fink, director of leasing for the Winter Organization, who will receive the Young Real Estate Man of the Year Award, selected each year by the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association of New York on the basis of integrity, professionalism and personal ethics.
