COSTA MESA, CA-DTZ has appointed Thomas Taylor as EVP and managing director in the firm's Orange County office here. Taylor will be part of DTZ's Southern California team, which includes a “strong and expanding presence in the Downtown and West Los Angeles offices as well as in Orange County,” according to the company.
Formerly an EVP at Transwestern, Taylor spent 26 years at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, where he was twice awarded the Excellence in Brokerage Award, the highest honor bestowed upon any broker. He was also ranked Top 10 in Grub's number-one office in the nation 15 times.
During his tenure with NGKF, Taylor headed up the national banking practice group, supervising all facets of multi-market tenant advisory services in all 50 states. He represented a diverse group of occupier clients and served as the transaction lead for more than 2,000 offices of Wells Fargo's home-mortgage operations, in addition to overseeing lease negotiations for many of Wells Fargo's large western US processing centers.
“My goal is to aggressively grow the Orange County office both in the number of brokers and revenue,” says Taylor. “DTZ is the right platform to build a substantial Southern California brokerage presence.” Taylor will be working with Mario Mexia, EVP of the capital markets team and a veteran dealmaker.
In addition, Anya Ostry is joining DTZ as senior associate. Also previously with Transwestern, Ostry will focus on one-off occupier clients in Southern California.
Greg Schementi, EVP and head of US occupier services/tenant representation at DTZ, says that the firm “is in a period of rapid growth and expansion in all regions of the country. The growth of our Orange County office is vital to our success statewide. Tom Taylor's knowledge, his proven leadership capabilities and client experience in Southern California, particularly within the banking and financial sectors, will help us achieve our goals for the region.”
As GlobeSt.com reported exclusively in September, Sidney-based UGL Limited appointed Tod Lickerman as DTZ global CEO, effective October 14. Lickerman, who replaced outgoing DTZ group president Robert Shibuya, was previously CEO, corporate solutions Americas, with Jones Lang LaSalle.
