DUBAI—Carlton Group has established a new Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region, and tells GlobeSt. in an EXCLUSIVE, adding that Ed McClendon has been hired to lead the unit.
Carlton chairman Howard Michaels notes that McClendon is a highly-successful real estate investment banking and alternative investment executive with more than 30 years of real estate valuation and investment banking experience.
McClendon, who resides in Dubai, is a capital markets specialist who has raised billions of dollars of capital for domestic and global corporations and financial institutions through private equity investments, senior credit facilities, PIPES, mezzanine financings and negotiations with strategic partners for joint ventures.
McClendon is also a FINRA licensed individual, and holds a series 7, 63, 79 and 24 license.
Joining McClendon is vice president Chase Chehade who is Lebanese and speaks fluent Arabic and French. Chehade will coordinate activities throughout the MENA Region with McClendon from Carlton's New York office.
The main objective for McClendon and Chehade is to provide “on the ground” accessibility to MENA Region investors who are looking to invest in major markets in Manhattan, the United States and throughout Europe. In addition, Carlton will also provide services to MENA Region investors who engage Carlton to raise capital or sell assets in the Middle East and throughout the world.
Carlton's direct presence in Dubai and the Mena Region was “way overdue as many ultra high net worth, family office and sovereign wealth investors in the MENA Region have an increased appetite for the kind of quality real estate transactions and services which Carlton provides,” said Carlton partner Michael Campbell.
The Carlton Group has been in business since 1991 and has completed over $100 billion of transactions. Carlton has and has been responsible for some of the most notable and profitable real estate transactions ever consummated. Carlton is presently the exclusive advisor on over $6 billion of European and U.S. investment sale and equity and debt investment opportunities.
