NEW YORK CITY-A top executive of the city's largest office building owner, SL Green Realty, expects a new rezoning plan to be in effect for the midtown east district of the city next year.

SL Green Realty President Andrew Mathias in a conference call to investors on Monday said that officials with Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio's administration told his firm that they support its 1 Vanderbilt high-rise office project to be built west of Grand Central Terminal, according to Bloomberg News.

A controversial plan floated by the Bloomberg administration to rezone the eastern side of midtown Manhattan failed last month.

SL Green Chairman Stephen Green, during the same investor conference call, termed reports of anxiety by business owners concerning incoming mayor de Blasio's policies as “overblown.” See story at Bloomberg News.
