LINCOLNSHIRE, IL-Zebra Technologies Corp. has signed a lease for 230,000 square feet of space at 3 Overlook Point here. The deal is the largest suburban Chicago office lease so far this year.
The deal is in fact the largest suburban transaction since August 2012 when Catamaran Corp. signed a 300,000-square-foot lease at the Windy Point II building in Schaumburg, according to Crain's Chicago Business.
The firm that manufactures bar codes, encoders, and radio frequency identification printers, will be relocating operations currently housed in offices in Lincolnshire and Vernon Hills. Zebra is subleasing 80% of the 3 Overlook building from Aon PLC of London until 2017 and will remain at the space under a direct lease with the landlord. Bob Reaumond, an executive vice president at Los Angeles-based CBRE, represented Aon in the deal. See story in Crain's Chicago Business.
