BETHESDA, MD-Planners with Montgomery County are trying to convince the American Society of Health System Pharmacists to agree to raze its office building in order to accommodate a future Penn Line station there.
The ASHSP's headquarters—the Apex building at 7272 Wisconsin Ave.−stands atop of the proposed station site adjacent to Wisconsin Avenue and Elm Street, according to the Washington Post.
David Silver, an attorney with Holland & Knight who represents the pharmacists' group, says the society is happy with the building it owns, although it has consulted with about a half-dozen development firms. “They'd like to accommodate people,” Silver said, “but it has to make good sense for them.”
The Apex office building also houses the Regal Bethesda 10 movie theater, a Food Wine & Co. restaurant and a For Eyes optical store. See story in the Washington Post.
