WASHINGTON, DC-The District of Columbia is offering two prime sites in Shaw and Anacostia for redevelopment.
The Shaw property totals 13,306 square feet. Located at Eighth and O streets NW, the parcel is across the street from Giant-anchored CityMarket at O, and a few blocks from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The site is zoned for commercial or mixed-use development that could include residential or hotel use, according to the Washington Business Journal. A pre-proposal conference for the Shaw site is scheduled for Jan. 9, with responses due by March 4.
The District is seeking redevelopment plans for 1909-1913 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE in Anacostia. The site was the former home to an 8,263-square-foot brick and stucco commercial building, constructed in 1905, with two stories above ground and a partial basement. The building's historic facade, was stabilized in 2007. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
