Main St. Building Wins TOBY Award

NEWPORT BEACH, CA-The office building at 2050 Main St. in Irvine, owned by AEW Capital Management, won a TOBY Award for Outstanding Building of the Year in the 250,000-square-foot-499,999-square-foot category at the recent Building Owners and Managers Association annual awards ceremony here. The building is managed by RiverRock Real Estate Group.

The award represents the most prestigious competition throughout Orange County that recognizes outstanding commercial office buildings and excellence in building management. All facets of a building's operations are considered, including its tenant-relations program, amenities package, community involvement, emergency-evacuation procedures, building standards, sustainability, energy-management accessibility and overall exceptional service.

The property, built in 2007 and owned by AEW since November 2011, is a 13-story, 314,074-square-foot, class-A office building. It is the newest addition to the 48-acre Irvine Concourse, which totals more than 2 million square feet of office space.

One of the unique qualities of 2050 Main St. is its aluminum-and-glass curtain-wall system with reflective glass and granite panels, which give it a sophisticated and classic look and feel. The building is currently 82% occupied, boasts an Energy Star rating and is LEED-Silver certified.

As GlobeSt.com reported earlier this month, AEW has awarded RiverRock with the management of a 630,000-square-foot of portfolio office and industrial space located in Denver and surrounding communities. This is the second new AEW management assignment the past three months.
