NEW YORK CITY-Just before fiscally-troubled Interfaith Medical Center was to submit its final closure plan to a bankruptcy court judge, officials representing the hospital told the court on Monday that the New York State Department of Health has promised some financial aid.

Published reports indicate that the funding will keep the Brooklyn-based hospital in operation through March 7. The amount of funding coming to the hospital is still being finalized, according to Crain's New York Business.

The hospital was expected to provide the court with its final closure plan on Monday after mediation discussions with the hospital's labor unions and creditors had not reached an agreement. See story in Crain's New York Business.
