PHILADELPHIA-While building permits recently fell in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, for the year residential building permits are sharply higher in the tri-state region of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey than in 2012.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia on Friday reported that building permits issued from October to November of this year rose 4% in Delaware, but declined 9% in Pennsylvania and 13% in New Jersey during that period.

However, year-to-date, total building permits were 17% higher in Pennsylvania, 36% higher in New Jersey and 21% higher in Delaware as compared to the same 11-month period last year.
